I'd have expected a statement from Bush before now about this; does he have no opinion about a man having his bones broken for throwing a shoe?

"...all I could think of was how lucky I am to have a class act like Bones on my bag..."

So much for all those Bush apologists who claimed al-Zaidi could only have gotten away with this now, rather than risk being beaten under a Saddam regime.

Falling prices was an interesting aspect of the Great Depression. Not something you get with a recession. Just sayin' be scared....very scared.

The Iraqis behavior toward Zaidi is appaling. Prosecute him for a crime, but beating him shows the Iraqi's don't get what justice should be. The U.S. should object vehemently.

Arne Duncan is interesting in that he is not that interesting of a choice. Since Obama has said that he’s pro-charter school and pro merit-pay for teachers (not traditionally views of the Democrats), many people in education were really looking forward to see what type of Education Secretary he chose.

Arne has done a decent job with CPS – some success (but not overwhelming), some innovate practices (mostly around different school types). He’s not an all-out reformer (like, say, Michelle Rhee) but he’s not exactly a traditional education figure either. I guess this means that both “sides” should be happy with the pick. I was hoping Obama would make it a little more clear what direction the administration is going to go.

To get us out of this recession, Obama needs to make Bush's tax cuts permanent. Otherwise there's no motive for investment. That's what democrats fail to understand, so we'll be in this recession as long as Obama thinks he's FDR II.

What, no music videos with The Morning News? Megan Seling, have you lost your mind? Please, to make up for it, post this video. Quick, before the haters attack!

@9. Yes, Democrats fail to understand how to create economic growth. Wait, what's that? GNP has grown at 1.14% more under Democratic presidents than Republican presidents since WWII? You don't say.

@9: Sure, let's keep cutting the government's source of revenue while raising spending. It's only fair, since the Republicans won the election based on the merits of this approach -- oh, wait! What's that you say? They lost? Oh, well. Suck it, trickle-downers. I guess being wrong about everything occasionally does have consequences.

What's IE?

Is that like International Exchange?

Sorry, if you're talking about browsers, IE doesn't work well on a Mac or Linux.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama's people set that fire at Palin's church. They are already worried sick about 2012, and would love to have her eliminated.

The Democrat Party taking yet another page from the Klinton playbook.

I wouldn't be surprised if Palin's people set that fire at Palin's church so their Slog operative Lord Vaseline could blame it on Obama's people. Lord Vaseline is already worried sick about 2012, and would love to have Obama eliminated.

The ReSloglican Party taking yet another page from the John Bailo playbook.

I'm loving how the "Oklahoma City Thunder" are losing to the Clippers right now.

They're on pace to finish 7-75!
