Am I completely imagining this, or, when Don Rickles was on The Daily Show the other day, did Jon Stewart say something about hosting the Oscars again this year? I was only half-listening, but I sort of came away with the impression that he was hosting them again. Guess not.

Does it matter? The Oscars are all about movie-industry politics (just like the Emmys are TV-industry politics and the Grammys are recording-industry politics). And there are so damn many awards shows the awards are all pretty much meaningless anyway...
Lindy's probably the type who's super critical of imaginary characteristics on men perfectly great men to justify her woeful singleness and inability to carry on relationships.

....the boy from Aus - maybe he'll do a little Peter Allen channeling and dance on a piano. Burning question: will AMPAS permit Jake and Michelle to accept Heath's posthumous Oscar?

I think Jon Steward said "I've hosted", not "I'm hosting" w/r/t the Oscars. As to Jackman, does this mean that no one on the planning committee thinks that Australia has a shot at the awards?
