Strangercrombie: THANK YOU!

Posted by on Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 5:03 PM

This year's Strangercrombie is OVER! All auctions are now closed and winners are being notified as we speak. Congratulations to everyone who won the auction they were bidding on, and thank you, thank you, THANK YOU so much for all your donations.

You have all donated a lot of money to Treehouse, but we're still a few grand short of where we were last year (goddamn recession). But there's still time to help! If you didn't win your auction (or if you weren't bidding, but are feeling generous), you can still donate to Treehouse via PayPal:

If you give $20, you get an awesome Stranger tote bag! And if you donate $50, you get your choice of a Gentlemen or Ladies of Slog calendar (where some of your favorite Slog commenters are wearing bacon, bathing, and doing a lot of hilarious and/or inappropriate things.

What perfect stocking stuffers!

Thank you all again, so much, for another amazing success.

That was a great 5 mins of running up the Sgt. Rigsby total. While I knew I probably wouldn't win, I was gonna make whoever wanted it really earn it.
Of course, if whoever won it wants to retract their bid- I wouldn't be too upset at paying what I ran you up to.
And I'm a regular Treehouse volunteer. So you could feel extra good about yourself.
:-)

To whoever outbid me on The Hold Steady Fan auction, FUCK YOU. You made it a very sad Kwanzaa this year

I ran the Hump! package up $70 in the last 5 minutes, too. If we can't have it (Lara and I were in cahoots), then they had better pay top dollar.

Wait, how many of us were bidding on Sgt. Rigsby?

Will did you take that away from me at the last second - literally?

I failed to get the Comics Nerd package but at least I raised the price of it. :(

I apologize to someguy, but as a die hard Hold Steady, that was my one splurge this Christmas. Though I honestly didn't expect my splurge to end being so much.

Yay!!! I got the package I was bidding on. Not Lindy, or the books with Paul, or the bull riding, but I'm satisfied nonetheless with the one I did win.

I would have loved to grab a burger with Dan and be a Savage Love junior associate guest columnist, but that ended up waaaaay too rich for me. :(

I just want to say; hoarding that ages-old bottle of "Orbitz" in my parent's basement really, really paid off. I'm so happy I could contribute. $150 for Treehouse, oh yeah!

I'd be happy to donate for the damn totebag, being a fan and all, but without shipping I'm kinda screwed.

Do I get a Men of Slog calendar if I won an auction with a final bid of way more than $50? ;)
Posted by threnody on December 12, 2008 at 11:55 PM

Yes you would've won the calendar for anything over $50. I won both :)

I'm going to save my money up so that next year I can finally win one of these things!

@3 and 6
You're welcome boys. I was really hoping to give that as a present to my roommate who loves Sgt. Rigsby. I got her a Killer Bunnies expansion instead.
She'll never know.
