Fran Drescher? Really? How about getting a Senate seat because you're an intelligent person (with an Ivy League law degree), familiar with the political world and how things get done, active in charitable causes, with relevant experience in the field of education management/policy? Do you think that describes Fran Drescher or Caroline Kennedy?
I'm not saying Caroline is the best pick out there (she wouldn't be my choice), but she's no Fran Drescher. Let's have a little perspective here.

What's with all the Caroline Kennedy hatred? I've always found her classy. Oppose her because she lacks experience but don't attack her character and opposing her just because she supported Obama over Clinton shows a complete lack of class. Oh well. Seems like typical attitude from East-Coasters.

It's some Clinton supporters, not "Clinton supporters."
Caroline is a very nice lady with a very famous set of relatives but I doubt she's ever been to Buffalo or Elmira.
Not sure she could beat Giuliani. Fucking NYC elected him. So he does ok there, for a Republican. Then he runs against her upstate attacking her celebrity and her appalling lack of knowldge on the issues.
She's been a co book writier, a fund raiser like other skinny hot blonde rich chicks in NYC and a celeb.
What the does she know about the issues?
I'll bet her biggest supporters here can't even tell us if she is for school reform without looking it up on the web.
What issue has she worked on? What crook has she put in jail with her law degree? What homeless shelter rules did she get adopted to protect the poor? What's she done except ride a pony and back Obama?
"Hi, I'm more qualified than Fran Drescher!" ????
She hasn't even had a job most of her adult life.
Just because someone does not have Ivy League degree does not mean they are not qualified for a Senate seat. You don't have to be a lawyer, but, yes, one should have a broad world view, be involved with charities and have strong leadership skills. Ms. Drescher touches on some of these and comes damn close to being more qualified than others who have obtained political positions (from what I read about her charity and political work). Some acting skills come in handy on the Senate floor. She is also originally (and obviously) from New York. That being sad, I don't support her at all because there IS someone out there who is qulified (not Caroline Kennedy) who can do the job.

Surely New York State won’t have a lawyer who has never held political office who’s only recommendation is who she is related to as a Senator. Wait….does this one actually live in New York State?
I seem to remember that Clinton carpetbagged her way into that seat, having never run for public office in her life, having a law degree but no real experience, having never lived in New York State and having connections but no visible qualifications beyond the desire to be a Senator. So, how did that turn out?
