A New Jersey state government commission today unanimously recommended to Governor Corzine and the New Jersey legislature that they enact a law to allow same-sex couples to marry "expeditiously because any delay in marriage equality will harm all the people of New Jersey."

Fuck Drowning Pool. They are the neo-Nugents. I guess when your music completely sucks, all it's good for is torture.

Ronnie James Dio is the worst-ever example of a 40-year-old dude with a big ol' bald spot trying to pass himself off as a Hot Young Rocker. Please post the video of the Jon Stewart Show episode from 1994 when Sonic Youth performed "Self-Obsessed and Sexxee." Now that was true awesomeness.

Nice work with the Dio. One of my favorite videos. Ever.

"There was loud music, (Eminem's) 'Slim Shady' and Dr. Dre for 20 days. I heard this nonstop over and over."

I also remember when MTV played music videos.

It also vaguely reminds me of fraternity parties.

I used to love Dio. Back when 8-tracks were high tech ...

I have been the victim of trolls on Slog, and other boards, and my feelings often get hurt, but I would never sue for libel. Other than my feelings, snide or nasty comments do not effect my life.

I think the use of "Anonymous" or people constantly changing their user names gives them the sense of power that they can treat people like shit without consequences.

I stopped using the usenet a long time ago because trolls kept calling users "faggots" when all anybody wanted was to know how to get to the next level of Zelda or when the next Frank Zappa album was coming out. Except for Slog, most of the boards I go to now are moderated.

As much as I'd like the trolls to be revealed as the pussies they really are, my support of the First Amendment out weighs my desire for some rough justice. Perhaps if I had a business that was being effected I might have a different opinion.

I like the Slog the way it is and wouldn't want to see it moderated (except to remove Spam). For every troll there are fifty well meaning people who either contribute a different side to a debate, or who offer a humorous one liner to break the tension.

No, seriously... is anyone else a bit confused about the lack of "Day Without a Gay" on Slog today?

I thought Dan would be all over this...

@5

Dio is awesome! His videos/songs make -5 sense.

"Jump on the tiger. You can see his stripes but you know they're clean. Oh, don't you know what I mean?"

WTF?

Plus, add cheesy swordfights and the devil, etc. How can you NOT love that? Your heart is cold and dead on the inside.

I am doing my part regarding "Day Without Gay." In solidarity, I will be Gay today and not do any work. The three gay people I know that work here at the nursing home all showed up to work, so I am trying to offset part of their...whatever the gay equivalent to "carbon footprint" is.

Dio is, I think, 5'4". Does that make him a midget, a dwarf, or a troll? Regardless, when I think of medal I hear his voice in my head. He is the man on the silver mountain.

The layoffs of the NFL are a bit shocking. I would have thought they were recession proof. Then again, who can afford to go to games?

I'll take Rainbow's "Gates of Babylon" or "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath over Dio's solo stuff any old day, thanks.

But that said, dwarf can sing...go find "Stars" by Hear N' Aid (which I'm pretty sure also has the same Vivian Campbell-era Dio lineup and producer as Holy Diver did) on YouTube and behold the primal power of metal as some of the wankiest but seriously talented rock vocal and guitar virtuosos ever do their best to give FNARF (love ya!) and others who loathe heavy rock a stroke and/or aneurysm....
