King County Prosecutors have filed charges against a 53-year-old Renton man for allegedly killing a homeless man in the "Jungle" last September.
Prosecutors say that on September 11th, Van Hoa Truong shot Major Lee Gay (I'm not making this up! That's his real name! Don't laugh!) after the two men got into an argument over a woman.
According to court documents, Gay had gone into the Jungle to buy crack before he encountered Truong. Documents say the two men got into a scuffle and Truong pulled out a handgun and shot Gay in the chest.
Truong told police he didn't mean to kill Gay but that if he hadn't, Gay "would have done the same to him."
Court records say Truong has previously been convicted on eight counts of theft and was found with 8 grams of crack during his arrest.
