Children's Hospital: Your New Favorite Web Show

Posted by on Tue, Dec 9, 2008 at 5:23 PM

Not only can you get full episodes of Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Veronica Mars, In Living Color and more at TheWB.com, now you can find the original web series Children's Hospital — a verrrrrry funny takeoff on E.R., Grey's Anatomy, and other icky hospital dramas. And even better, it stars such comic greats as creator Rob Corddry (as a creepy Patch Adams wanna-be), Ed Helms, Megan Mullally, David Wain, Rob Huebel, and Stephen Colbert! Each episode is only about six minutes long, so you can totally sneak one or two by the boss. PLUS! The entire 10 episode season is already up online!

Here's a clip, and then rush over and check it out. This one is a keeper!

I was just watching "Quincy" on Retro Television (Ch. 7.2)

They actually mentioned Albert Schweitzer in an episode about a community trying to buy a hospital so they could keep having health care "regardless of the person's ability to pay"!

We're people allowed to say smart stuff on TV back in the 70s?

(In the episode, they also made a Jimmy Carter joke about peanuts...)

I was gonna get pissed that I wasted money on the Firefly DVDs 'till I realized the online version has ads with no volume control. That said, I like how Episode 1 of Childrens' Hospital starts with "Previously on..."

Motherfucking fucking FUCK! Another TV show that tries to be edgy by having chix kiss.

Did some Seattle theatre lesbian write this? I bet you included a line like "when you pick up that tea cup, I feel like I'm making love to you," and you cried when it got cut and drank wine and listened to The Cranberries for three days straight while you cut out pictures of people's eyes in magazines and glued them everywhere, even on mailboxes, until you got over it!

And undoubtedly there is scene with a quiet hunky boyfriend who drives around in a old Ford pickup brooding about the one he loves while the one he loves smashes cooking utensils while wearing a wife beater and old Levi's, and then goes outside and smokes when she calms down.

All the chicks in TV shows like that smoke, you ever notice that? Smoke, drink wine, and have a cat named "annika."

My God, that's as pre-fabricated as a house built in 1952!

GAG ME WITH A FUCKING SPOON!

Fucking WB, just like Hulu. Only works in the US. This looks hilarious. I just wish I could see it. :(
