City Woman Warns Police About Gang Targeting Prostitutes

A woman identified in a police report as a prostitute has warned Seattle Police that a gang of men may be targeting and attacking prostitutes near the Seattle Center.

On November 26th, the woman contacted police to report an assault and also told them that a group of four men have attacked and robbed other prostitutes around the Seattle Center and in Denny Park.

According to the woman, the group of four men—who, the woman says, all carry knives—hang out at a gas station on 6th and Denny and wait until they see a prostitute get out of a car before they grab the woman and assault and rob her.

The woman who reported the attacks says she was also assaulted by the group of men at 6th and John. She told police that when the men attacked her, they tried to remove her pants but she was able to escape.

The woman told officers she believes several of the men may be Russian.

Man, that has to be the low end of the crime scale...thieves robbing from hookers! Do those guys lie about their jobs when they go and hang out at the underworld bars at which they hang?

I'm not sure why a serious news item like this is in slog. I thought slog was more on trivia. Kind of fucked to make light of something like this. Violence towards prostitutes is terrorism and it impacts all of us.

Denny Park is notorious and has been for years. Strangely, anyone who isn't on the city pay roll understands this.
And by the way, Seattleites just voted another 140 Miillion for this top notch management.
At this point we are all basically subsidizing gangsters so they can use the parks for drug dealing, prostitution, etc.
I am not saying kickbacks are involved that would imply some awareness and sophistication.

This is sad as it probably won't be taken seriously by the police since it's a marginalized part of society which engages in illegal activity. I really hope those girls get help.

All I can say to @14 is 'Huh?'

From what do you infer that the woman is blantantly stupid? No other description of the assailants were given to contradict her statement,or to confirm it, either.

Are you saying that because the attack happened in Washington state the attackers *had* to be Americans?

And for most people, the term 'Russian' covers most of the Slavic countries as well. I'm not saying that it should - but that it is generally the case.

So, really, Cookie W. Monster - WTF?
