The New York Times put these illustrations of the reluctant-to-sit-for-his-official-portrait Mario Cuomo on the front page this morning.

I like the so-called Picasso interpretation on the far right the best as a standalone image (all are by illustrator Thomas Fuchs). The others, left to right, are homages to Mondrian, Crumb, and Warhol. But none of these really captures the charismatic and smooth but still somehow pleasantly frumpy guy who was my childhood governor. I also remember him as a hothead. I'm going with El Greco for El Mario.
In any case, MYO Mario portrait here.
