Music to Be Electrocuted By

Posted by Anthony Hecht on Tue, Dec 2, 2008 at 8:52 AM

Japanese artist-programmer Daito Manabe wrote himself a nice little electronic beep-boop-beep song, and then electrocuted his face to the beat. Weird! Here's the video:

"Electrocute" means "to kill by means of electricity". it's actually a whatchamadoohickey of "electricity" and "execute". You just mean to say "electrify", unless this is some sort of snuff video (I haven't watched it yet).

No e-stim above the waist is the general rule. But this deserves an exception.

He's no The Gerogerigegege!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Geroger…

The Gerogerigegege is known for their releasing extremely limited edition records such as 1989's 昭和 (Shōwa), which bookended a recording of people having sex with "Kimi ga Yo", the Japanese national anthem, and the Night EP, which features what seems to be a recording of a man defecating into a toilet after the usual "1 2 3 4!!" count. The album Recollections of Primary Masturbation contains 338 songs, including the entire Tokyo Anal Dynamite album as one track and ten minutes (spread over two tracks) containing 223 previously unreleased songs.

Christing fuck, you people are dense.
He wired his face to make music via movement. The text in the post was meant as a joke.
There's no electrocution going on.

Dan Savage @3,

Hahahaha. That was actually my first thought. I thought it was dangerous to do this kind of thing above the waist. LOL. Everything I know about E-stim, I learned from Dan Savage.

This is a clear example of high modern art. The synthesis of electricity, music and the human form is achieved. This guy should be patronized by all the largest hedge funds, defense manufactures, Somali pirates and G8 leaders.

This is just the beginning! I want to see a full-on computer/machine/electricity animated person by March.

What a great idea let the machines animate us!
