The Arrow

Posted by on Fri, Nov 28, 2008 at 11:52 AM

In the bow, in the air, in the body:

A 12-year-old was killed by an arrow in Stevens County, near Chewelah.

The sheriff's office says the boy was visiting friends on Thanksgiving Day when he was shot.

An ambulance took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Maybe they were re-enacting the first Thanksgiving and the Indians decided to turn the tables?

That is sad. When was the last time someone, anyone, was killed by an arrow?

I spent every summer at my grandparents' farm in Chewelah. I never heard of anyone using a hunting bow and arrow. I wish the story were more complete so that I knew what had caused this tragedy.

I have a 12 year old boy who loves to hunt and use bows and arrows...I also live in the chewelah area....I feel as a mother I couldn't even imagine how the family feels right now or how I would ever react to something so horriable..My prayers and tears of the loss of such a young and innocent life are with the family.
