Fight Fiercely, Seahawks, Fight, Fight, Fight!

Posted by Dan Savage on Fri, Nov 28, 2008 at 9:55 AM

I understand from the straight guys at my gym that 1. Seattle has a professional football team 2. they engaged in a competition yesterday and 3. they did not acquit themselves like champions.

The sad part is that they were supposed to be playing in the evening time slot but were bumped because everyone assumed they were going to goose egg the field in advance!

I totally watched part of the game. I always end up watching American football when I'm at home. My brother assured me that the Seahawks aren't any good. So now I know.

The problem with the Hawks, aside from injuries, is that Holmgren decided he wanted to coach another year. Instead of pussy-footing around, Holmgren should've quit, so the Hawks could start the rebuilding. Look for big changes next year, starting with the linebackers.

Abby, honey, as long as you're here in America, it's
"football", not "American football," and the other game is called "soccer." When you are commenting on Slog posts from outside the country, feel free to call it "American football" to your heart's content.

But I like being pretentious on blog posts.

I do too. If I wasn't an American I would totally call it "American football". Since I can't, I just use a lot of semicolons correctly.

And is it my imagine, or weren't the Seahawks at the Superbowl two years ago? Wha happa?

On the bright side my Slog Fantasy Football team has Tony Romo as QB, so I won either way.

At this point I am hoping Detroit can win a couple games and the Seahawks lose the rest so Seattle can have the first pick in the draft (assuming they didn't trade it away for a used kicking tee).

Know nothing about football (American or otherwise), but I'm guessing that would be a bad choice??

Love the Lehrer reference! And, believe me, the Seahawks could not possibly have been as bad as the Lions yesterday. That was embarrassing. I have the sinking feeling that our local high school championship team could beat the Lions right now.
