Youth Minister's Wife Caught Having Sex with 16 Year Old Church Member

Pastor Gerald Thompson from Salem Baptist Church said 28 year old Melissa Jones came to him last Thursday crying. She confessed to having sex with a 16 year old member of the youth ministry that her husband runs. Prosecutors say the affair started in September. Jones faces up to 7 years behind bars for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

"The Bible says be sure your sin will find you out. And her sin found her out," said Thompson. It's a sin the congregation at Salem Baptist Church is trying hard to forgive.... Now parents like Gary Perry struggle to tell their teens about Melissa Jones. He says her actions should not tarnish the youth group. But he doesn't understand why she did it."

Florida:

A Greenacres youth minister is accused of having a yearlong sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl he counseled. Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested 33-year-old Brent Edwards during the weekend.

According to the arrest report, the girl told detectives that they began having sex shortly after he started counseling her for emotional problems. The girl said they had sex two to three times a week before or after school, after youth group functions in his car and in Edwards' home when his wife was in another room....

One of Edwards' neighbors—a former Catholic priest and now a psychotherapist—said he is shocked by the arrest. "They always used to have music practices—drum and so on—in their house often," he said. "I always felt it was good because, you know, they generally had a good time."

Why is every woman busted for this so fucking hot! Why couldn't I have had a teacher like that? As a kid, I never felt anything but loathing for the god that told Jacob to kill his son, I always thought that god was just like the galactic empire and I dreamed of someday blowing up his death-star, but I would totally go to one of his youth ministries if that woman was guarding the flock.

Dan, are these really necessary anymore? Not only are you preaching to the choir, but we get the point. Although these are still better than the "Every child needs a mother and a father" ones. Those are just sad and depressing.

I'm still happy to this day that the priest at my Catholic school was just a mean old drunk instead of a lecherous molester.

I bet that 16 year old the female preacher slept with brags about that sex for his entire life. If I got to sleep with her when I was 16 I would never ever feel bad about it. I had a couple hot teachers when I was in highschool and there is now way they could have 'taken advantage of me'. Why? Because I would have been soooooo into it.

Prosecuting Jones for having sex with the 16-year-old boy will do much more psychological damage to the kid than the sex ever could. If it was straight-up sex, with no manipulation, harassment, drugs or other factors, I say give her a medal, and let the kid pin it on her.

It's ironic that everyone is referencing the South Park episode where Ike sleeps with his teacher (Nice!). The point of that episode was mocking the notion that an older woman sleeping with a minor boy is somehow harmless. It's not.

So, if a 16 year old boy is sleeping with a 28 year old woman, and she starts asking him to do things for her, hinting that the sex will stop if he doesn't, do you think that boy will say no? She can get him to steal, "Hey, bobby, can you get some money from your parents?", transport drug, "Hey bobby, take this mysterious package to this address."...etc. The are plenty of things she could manipulate him into doing, she has all the power, which is why these people do it in the first place.

I would have been willing to sleep with several of my teachers in school, but I was a fucking idiot when I was 16. Every 16 year old is a fucking idiot, it's why there are laws about this kind of thing.

She's hot, but any grown, married, woman who has an affair with a 16 year old boy has a screw loose -- she's self-destructive if nothing else.

What's the age of consent there, anyway? It used to be 16, but the new prudism has been raising it in recent years.

Prosecuting her would make sense only if the boy suffered trauma. I share the feeling that the kid hit the jackpot.

I understand that every one feels the kid got lucky because she is hot but her "hottness" doesn't change the fact that she was his first there for now he is in "love" with her, has dropped out of school and feels like there is no reason to live life of a normal 16 year old. He feels he will never love another there so his future is done. That is what really makes this abuse.

when i had an affair with youth pastors wife ,we had been friends for years .so the question what part did the husband play ? she was hot ,sexy and dressed provocative,clothes see through dresses,lowcut blouses showing lots of cleaveage.again where was the husbands part(youth pastors). abuse to the 16yr old he can`t have her ..lesson 1forgive and move forward ,life is over coming these trials.
