City Oh, No You Di'int

This shouldn't bother me—I mean, he's just a politician, right? And people appropriate, tweak, and repurpose political and religious imagery all the time. But it's too soon, right? Or not—I mean, it certainly caught my eye; I almost fell off my bike. And here it is on Slog. So... effective banners, now gone viral.
Anyway, right now everything is 20% off at the City Home Store. President-elect Obama is doing all he can to save the economy—now you do your part. Go buy a couch.

Remember, folks: nothing is, in fact, sacred. If you can think of it, somebody's selling it. Same as it ever was.

It's probably copyright infringement that should prompt a cease-and-desist letter -- but Obama's team probably has better things to do.

@7: I remember visiting Moscow during the Gorbachev era, with some great buildings and the cool subways and no traffic or advertising and thinking, "This city would be so awesome--if they just had supermarkets with food." Advertising is gruesome, but I guess it's the price we pay. Happy Thanksgiving!
