Posted by on Wed, Nov 26, 2008 at 11:10 AM

Each man who splashed a high-school girl in the face with battery acid was paid $1,275 (100,000 Pakistani rupees) by the Taliban.

Laura Bush called the attackers "cowardly," which brings to mind this image by Ed Ruscha

I thought senselessly attacking girls was Bellevue Ave's domain.

Laura Bush got one right for a change. Going after tough little schoolgirls with acid, that's pretty fucking cowardly if you ask me.

How about we airlift all the women out of that godforsaken shithole and then nuke it? They're irredeemable.

I'd rather arm the women and send them out to hunt down and kill those motherfuckers. But Fnarf's suggestion is pretty good too.

Fnarf's idea isn't "pretty good too," it's better. Now shut up or suck on some of this battery acid I bought from Battery Acid Land.

In addition to the punishment--the reward money given to the fuckers who did this should go to funding these girl's education. It would be like a scholarship from the Taliban.

@4: No, no, no - you've got it all wrong. I don't fuck them, I throw them off of cliffs! How do you think I won BA's heart of stone?

We should nuke these fucktards off the planet.

Oh and I wrote this before reading #5.

Great minds think alike!

Ahh... it's a war liberals can love. Let's stay in Afghanistan and make them better people by force.

@10: I'm sorry, but your name has a 'g' in it. We can't allow that on Slog - names starting in 'g' are taken.

Jen,
Gotta side with Laura Bush on this. "Cowardly" is a charitable adjective for the Taliban. These men are uncivlized thugs. Tell like it is. They have declared war on women. This moment shouldn't be politicized. Fnarf has a point. These young men have no purpose. Let them not have women either.

Is the red fin a part of the Ruscha? It fits well.

The red fin is not part of the Ruscha but I kind of agree with you that in this photograph its angle is so perfect that it should be. In case it's not clear (because it's not, really), the black blob under the words is a ghost ship.

That last image is of a mural here in San Diego. It has been there as long as I remember with the same words at the top. Back in the day, however, instead of the ship there was a picture of a guy running, short-shorts, tank top and all.
