Your Chance to Complain Now Rather Than Later

Posted by Jen Graves on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 12:57 PM

The owners of Villa Apartments at the corner of Pike and Boren would like to put up some public art on a giant exterior wall, and they want to know what you think about the designs they have in mind.

They're holding a meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 tomorrow night at Tango (in the same building), 1100 Pike Street. Have your say!

Just paint it white and let the taggers do what they're going to do anyway.

Hmmm Public art dictated by the public. That's new. Usually public art is dictated by those in power using public money the public part is just mentioned because everyone can see it from a public space.
If the "owners" of an apartment want to put up art it is not public it is something they own and just something the general public can see.

Well whatever it is, I'm sure it will be better than those utensil sculptures next to the Paramount I get to see every day.

@7 You recognized them as utensils! I'm impressed. I walk by them every day and i always thought they were a diamond ring and a cowboy hat and an angel. That is, until i met the artist (because i just had to know how or why someone would create such awful art) and he told me they were utensils! You are super smart.
