For the Obama Fan Who Has Everything

Posted by Paul Constant on Mon, Nov 24, 2008 at 12:12 PM

200px-AudacityofHope.jpgI was shopping at various bookstores around town on Saturday and I couldn't help but notice that Elliott Bay Book Company has signed first editions of Barack Obama's second book, The Audacity of Hope, left over from their reading with him before his candidacy for president.

150px-My_Life_Bill_Clinton.jpgThis would be the perfect Christmas gift for the huge Obama fan in your life. And it only costs 1,500 dollars.

My favorite part? One of the signed Obama books is sitting in a glass case next to a signed first edition of Bill Clinton's memoir, My Life. That one's going for $500.

What words of wisdom could possibly be gleaned from men who:
- Cheats on his wife time and time again with trashy sluts.
- Sits in a pew for over twenty years fermenting in USA-trashing rhetoric.

Autographs signed before someone had achieved something are often worth more than something signed after it has been achieved.

An autograph by Paul McCartney when he was with the Beatles is worth more than an autograph of his today.

Wait a minute that Clinton book is worth $500? He signed thousands of those (I was in the line for three hours), it can't possibly be worth $500.

That's not strictly true with books, @2. I mean, if Obama signs a first edition copy of The Audacity of Hope now, it's still worth as much as an edition signed before he became president-elect. Unless you have a photo and certification.

$1500 for a book? Audacious indeed!

Raindrop:
Ignoring the bullshit inherent in your descriptions, the answer is:
A LOT.

Your rewarmed "WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE?" posturing is just as bullshit as it was last century. Thanks for playing, we have some lovely parting gifts for you.

Raindrop you really have issues that needs to be resolve by someone other than Rush Limbaugh and Bill the punk ass O'Riley. I will give residual value to your statement however everyday in America Black men are being shot and killed by the police state for absolutely nothing other than being black or brown. I am amazed and disenchanted with the attitudes of people who are educated, and still cant see the forest for the trees. You cant sleep at night because Bill Clinton had sex with a consenting adult? Yet each week in America people of color are shot dead just for being black. In the surburb of Houston in the town of Bellair a police man followed a 19 yr old black man into his own drive way, the kid was not resisting, it was his Escalade he was driving. The cop had the kid and his passenger get out of the truck, and sit on the ground in the front yard, which they did, the kids mother came outside asking what the problem was, he told the mother the truck was stolen, since they were people of means the kids father was a professional baseball player of 16 yrs the truck was paid for. The policeman threw the woman agaist the wall of her own home and handcuffed her. When her son still sitting on the ground in the yard complained, the policeman shot at the man 2 time hitting him once in the chest in front of his mother. The police man claimed the truck was reported stolen. The registration was in the truck and all the papers were in order, i ask you sir if this happened to you or your child would it be ok? Why is it always ok to use deadly force against people of color? The policeman was not threaten in anyway. You never ever under any circumstances see a cop of color shooting white people then claim they seen something shiny or mistaken a wallet for a 9 mm. I am amazed that in America after all of this time, when a black man is pulled over for any reason by a policeman, he is absolutely terrified that his life is at stake by a cop who views all black men as thugs and criminals. Hate is a tool that the shot callers have been using to keep the peasents in line for centuries, even educated people cant see this. We sir are all slaves of corporate america, Dont hate Debate Andrewells134@yahoo.com
