Reading Tonight

Three good readings tonight.

Up at Third Place Books, Jen McLagan reads from Fat : An Appreciation of a Misunderstood Ingredient. She talked with Angela Garbes last night as part of One Pot and tonight she stands alone. Alone with her cookbook. Alone with her cookbook and an audience, and a tremendous appreciation for fat.

At Elliott Bay Book Company, Carol Miller reads from Lola's Luck: My Life Among the California Gypsies. I have not read this book, but I can assure you that any human being who lives with and studies gypsies is an awesome human being. American gypsies, with their predilection for painting driveways black and and their Law and Order: Criminal Intent episodes, are the best gypsies in the world.

And at the Hugo House, it's time for Personal Injury with authors like the great (and local) Ryan Boudinot, Richard Rodriguez, and Sallie Tisdale. Laura Veirs will also sing on the theme.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.
