Politics Doesn't This Photo...

...taken by Damon Winter and published in today's NYT look fake? And not just like, cuz, they actually appear to be enjoying each other's company. What's wrong with the perspective, other than the camera being low? It looks like the final scene of Casablanca, with midgets as runway personnel and toy planes and everything.

There are simply TONS of midget runway personnel walking around with cameras pointed! You are grasping at straws, my fried!

It looks like the photographer has some skills, is what it looks like. God I can't wait until 5 o'clock, because the Slog has officially stopped being entertaining for the week.

I cannot believe I am going to write this next sentence. They look good together. I think after Barack, she will be our next President and, if she doesn't undermine Obama, I will give her thousands of dollars too. None of you know how extremely excruciatingly painful it was to write those previous words.

High depth of field, telephoto lens, low perspective ... this is a perfectly clean, obviously straightforward picture. Wish people knew more, or took the time to investigate or ask someone who knows, about basics of pictures before calling out honest photographers for 'dirty work' ... a shame.

This is a great shot. The perspective is like ancient egyptian art, where the power of each figure is proprotional to its size.

Wow, if I blogged for Slog I'd be so depressed. One imprecise word choice and a billion people swoop down to attack you within seconds. I'm really impressed that you still read comments. And thanks for the cool picture.

a good photographer gets down on his knees for the sake of art. and often gets a great photo. that's all.

@14: Her hips aren't huge for a normal 60-year-old woman. They're huge for an model or an actor, whom is usually who we see on television. Not everyone has Helen Mirren's bod.

#21 - Her hips are clearly turned 3/4 profile to the camera making them look narrower than they actually are. It's an age-old trick of the trade, albeit accidental in this case.
