Increases in teenage pregnancies have Alabama officials worried and wondering what's gone wrong....Some blame TV... Randy Breedlove, youth minister at Morningview Baptist Church, said it's not just the adult-themed shows that have more sexual content.
"Ten years ago we didn't have Viagra commercials or condom commercials," said Breedlove, who is trained through Sav-a-Life Montgomery Inc. to educate teenagers about abstinence. "But now, they are just like Uncle Ben's commercial."
And some blame youth pastors...
Ohio:
Jeremy Workman, 33, of Olmsted Falls was sentenced to four years in prison for having sex with a minor four years ago when he was head of the youth ministry at Berea Baptist Church. Workman was 29 at the time and the girl was 15, said Ryan Miday, a spokesman for the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office.
In September, Workman pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a third-degree felony. Workman was indicted in April after it became apparent he had sex with the woman when she was a minor.
The woman recently gave birth and Workman is the child's father, said Miday.
