We Want Your Prop 8 Protest Photos!

Posted by Megan Seling on Sat, Nov 15, 2008 at 9:55 AM

If you're going to the Prop 8 protest today (rally starts at noon at Volunteer Park, with a march down to Westlake Center immediately following at 1 pm) be sure to take lots of pictures and post them on the Stranger's Flickr Pool. (Don't forget to give 'em a "Prop8" tag.)

You can also post pictures of you preparing for the rally—making signs, making shirts, whatever!

We're going to be reporting on Seattle's protest all afternoon on Slog, and we want you to share your protest pictures and stories too (we'll have our own photographers at the scene too, but the more photos we get, the better). We might also use some reader's photos in next week's issue of The Stranger!

So see you at the rally, and don't forget your camera!

I'm getting ready to leave for the Indianapolis rally, but it's raining so no camera. If there's anything to report, I'll do so when I get back.

Wearing leather and a "gay by nature, proud by choice" shirt and rainbow Mardi Gras beads. I'm such a fag.

will someone please march for me, as well as my hard. core. PFLAG mom? if she didn't walk with a cane now she would have been interested in marching too.

They cut it a little short because of the weather (cold, rainy, nasty) but we had maybe 200 people turn out and got honks from many passing cars and two fire trucks.

Started out with a long reading of quotes about freedom and equality by famous Americans, then they turned the mic over to speakers to finish the sentence "I'm here today because..." I was the closing speaker.

Not too bad for such a bad day here in the city.

jezbian: consider yourself and your mom represented. I was also carrying the memories of my partner and many, many (too many) friends.
