This Is What Broadway Looks Like Right Now

Posted by Christopher Frizzelle on Sat, Nov 15, 2008 at 1:43 PM

From this high vantage, at Broadway and John, marchers extend beyond the horizon. They're chanting "What do we want?" "EQUAL RIGHTS!" "When do we want it?" "NOW!" Hard to convey how many people this is. Five minutes later, I took another picture. They just keep coming.

Sorry about the cell phone journalism. More and better pics soon.

The gay community sure is stupid. Protesting equal rights on fucking BROADWAY? It's kind of hard to make an impact when everyFUCKINGone agrees with you.

to give some context - the I-5/Pine traffic cam picked up the first marchers at 1:51pm, at the same time the end of the line of marchers is still north of Broadway and Olive.

Protesting in areas hostile to your viewpoints is rude and offensive to those people just trying to go about their business. Protesting in areas that agree with your viewpoints is stupid and useless, because who are you trying to convince?

Hey, idiot, maybe the point of a nationwide protest is not to change your neighbor's mind with a sign.

@ 1

1. The rally is marching down to west lake center

2. Rally turn out or location isn't about changing hearts and minds, its about showing law makers and bigots (like I'm assuming you are) where our hearts and minds are.

Ironically enough, wild fires are out of control in California. Hey biggots, who do you really think god is shunning?

Nothing on NWCN about any protests. Are you sure this is really happening?

I was at Plymouth Pillars dog park near the freeway. They just kept coming and coming down Pine, as far as you could see. It was awesome. Lots of kids, dogs, moms, and couples. I was in awe at the power of the people.

Protest through all of Seattle! It doesn't make one bit of fucking difference. The fact is that the gay community failed in its lack of organization for Prop 8. Oh, and calling someone who disagrees with you on procedure but not policy a 'bigot' doesn't do us any favors. Grow up, get real, and find a real fucking plan. Drinking mimosa's on Broadway ain't gonna do shit for the cause.

Wait, what did you do to stop Prop 8?

Oh, also, I really want to fight now to make sure that Prop 8 doesn't pass. Can I borrow your time machine?

It doesn't matter what I did or could have done. I am attacking YOUR side's actions on a valid basis. Answer the fucking question, douche: Wouldn't this have been more beneficial BEFORE the 4th?
