But That Anonymous Guy Said It Would Be Good

QFlip is a way for you to randomize your Netflix Queue and let other people vote on the movie you'll receive next.

Personally, I just can't bring myself to submit my queue information to this thing, in part because it's too random. For instance, someone named Michael Pitch is letting people vote on what his next movie should be. The options, which I believe QFlip chose randomly, are as follows:

Netflix1.jpg

and

Netflix2.jpg

Um. But still: Not bad for code written in 48 hours, and not a bad idea. I'd like to set up some sort of system where I let my friends pick a movie for me, or even an "I'm feeling lucky" button on Netflix.

I'm busy working through the second season of Columbo on WatchNow!

(Can't wait until mono finishes its Moonlight implementation of Silverlight so I can ditch XP and watch in openSuse 11).

That is a horrible idea.

I would love it if I could randomize my Netflix queue. I wouldn't want other people voting on it, but if I could just have it pick a random movie from it to send me next that would be great.

Paul,
Actually "Holiday" & "Lilies of the Field" are good films.

I've seen ALL of those movies. Even "Bernard and the Genie." It features an appearance of Bob Geldof and I think I saw it on BBC America five or six years ago.

I was on the Qflip team and wanted to clarify Qflip actually pulls those five from the list of your top recommendations on Netflix, making the chance that you'll like a movie a lot higher. So, it's still using the Netflix algorithms to make sure you don't get movies you've rated and movies you'll probably like, but it's throwing you something you might not have ordinarily watched. Example: I got Evil Dead 2 the other day, which I wasn't remotely interested in, but which turned out to be awesome.
