It seems that this woman was killed when she asked to be taken back to town, that is, to not take part in the KKK any more. Why would you advocate that more people be killed when they decide not to join hate groups after all?
I imagine your sentiment is supposed to be "Wouldn't it be nice if there were no more Klan initiations because all the members died at previous attempted initiations?" but geeze.

The fact that they hid the body "under some brush" is really the true testament to the genius of this organization. "Ah cain't see it...can yew? Well, we jist done got away with the perfect murder, then!"

Just another example of how totally irresponsible Mr. Savage is. You're the fucking editor of a paper, and it could be argued that right here you're advocating FOR murder. Way to go Dan. Its really too bad that your financial value to this paper is way over priced.

The leader is (or was at one point) from Livingston Parish - the parish next door to me (I live in East Baton Rouge). Livingston Parish is well known for their lack of tolerance. In one of the school districts there, during the mock elections, Obama literally got seven votes, out of about 600 cast in the high school. The high school students who shared that fact with me also told me that in Walker and Watson, the most rural parts of the parish, hearing about or witnessing cross burnings is pretty routine.
Here is the Baton Rouge paper's take on it, if you are interested.
I think what's evoking the less-than-amusing response is that the woman was killed when she asked to leave.
I'm pretty irreverent and a fan of 'gallows humor' myself, but I can't help thinking: what if she'd been an undercover reporter or cop? (Yeah yeah, some of the smartasses wouldn't care about the latter, but- come on.)
