A lot of readings going on tonight.
At Town Hall, Riane Eisler reads from The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics, which is a book that would make Ayn Rand claw out her own eyes in disgust.
Three readings I don't know much about: At the University Book Store, David Knibb reads from Grizzly Wars, which is about grizzly bears and their eternal lust for the pick-a-nick basket. Up at Third Place Books, Ann Roth reads from My Sisters, which is about sisters coming together after their mother dies in a car crash. And over at Open Books, Karen Volkman reads poetry that is allegedly "sonically rich and laced with unusual phrasing."
And at Elliott Bay Book Company, Keith Lee Morris reads from The Dart League King, which is a novel about a small town in Idaho and the cokehead man who leads the dart league in that town. I wish I'd had time to read this book before this reading. When I just looked it up, I realized I'd probably really enjoy the thing. If you're into Harry Crews or Knockemstiff, this is probably going to be your new favorite book.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.
