Dan killed on Colbert. Cracked him up, which almost never happens. Great Saddleback joke, too.

Nice work. Anyone who can leave Colbert speechless is good indeed.

But hey, didn't you wear that shirt on Real Time?

Well, I suppose if we must have a spokesgay to represent us all, we could do worse.

Good job!

Oh, nicely done!

Awesome job Dan! Always great to see someone who can think so quickly on their feet. @8 Don't think there is a better spokesgay.

Tea with Riz has to happen at some point, but in the meantime...

Himself does such a fabulous job in the national media. On Colbert, he was inarguably super focused, funny, and still biting - and it was as though the bullshit parts of the Slog posts the last few days never existed. Pragmatically (assuming that's the word), it's probably been extremely helpful to him that his (deliberately?) flamey Slog posts of the last several days have generated such a huge range of comments. They help him learn what flies and what doesn't, which points illuminate and which ones alienate, and why. The Colbert appearance and the NYT piece prove that overall this has a tremendous value, well offsetting any temporary alienation we local and/or Slog-centric readers may feel.

Until the tea with Riz comes to pass, trial balloons will probably keep floating up on Slog. I hope commenters can not take stuff too personally or swear off reading these posts, but keep on parsing flaws and strong points to help fella be as well-prepped as possible choosing his words for the national stage.

It's worth it.

Methinks my little crush on Dan just got bigger! Why don't you have your own show yet?

very nice, Dan...

is it kind of weird that I am proud that one of my friends was on Colbert Report but I dont really know Dan? He is my spokesgay older brother.

Yes, but is it really a comfort that older people are dying? I mean, we'd be foced into celibacy or sex with methed-out twinks and I'm not for either!

Has anyone heard about this?

Personally, I don't think your political donations should cause you to lose your job.

Dan was great and even though Colbert was joking about the black gays versus other gays, there's some truth to it specially went it comes to marriage. I've repeateadly heard from other black gays how marriage is not a priority for them and how it is just a rich white gay thing.

Going on the Colbert Report is never an interview. It's a game.

The game is: If Colbert makes you look like an idiot, Colbert wins. If you can make Colbert break character or crack up, you win. Neither, and it's a draw.

Dan won!

He didn't just crack up, he had to physically cover his face! Awesome.

I'd be more impress if Dan had gone a few rounds with a actual blow hard( ie Bill o'Reily Sean Hannity etc) then with a faux one. And Dan, just because there are Queers of color, don't assume that their agenda is the same as yours.

Justin.
