At Large A Picture Is Worth a 1000 Words

But not this one. This one probably isn't worth five or ten, but... it's one of my favorite sights and this is the best my iPhone could do.

Approaching Manhattan from JFK. That's the Empire State Building there in the middle. Still get a chill when I look to the left before dipping down into the tunnel. Has it really been seven years?

You could caption this picture "View from West Seattle" or "Paris, City of Lights", and we wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

We head back to NYC via JFK for Thanksgiving. Look forward to the exact same view you describe here Dan. We can't believe it has been 7 years either. We'll hoist one in rememberance of all 9/11/01 families, you and of course the Rockette's.

You can actually take the subway into the city from JFK, if you're into the whole low-carbon thing.

Right now I can see the full moon in a mostly cloudless sky from the UW Tower at 4 pm. That's not a bad view. But mornings in Firenze were always my fave.

Approaching Manhattan from The Bruckner Expressway in Bronx is pretty spectacualr as well.

seven years later, dan will have the horrifying realization that, like buses, sometimes subway cars are late, full of smelly people, and crowded.

I bet DJ is SO HAPPY that his "Dad" is gone for 90% of the time. You suck Dan. I feel for DJ and Terry, who you just leave at home while you traipse off to be important. Whoa, sorry about that guys. I went a little over the line with that last comment. Had a bit of a rough day...and I guess I decided to take it out on Dan Savage via a web blog. Man, given some time I realize how petty that is, and I really just need to find satisfaction in my own life rather than criticizing others. Again, really sorry, have a great night everybody. @6: Right there with you... I also still get this weird moment of rage when someone who wasn't there starts in with the "hole left in the city, the hole left in their heart" rhetoric. It only fully dawned on me this weekend that when most people were waking up over here the towers had already fallen...
