This episode came up in a class I took in Classics of Greek literature. The teacher was discussing the Iliad (naturally) and the epics of Marduk as examples of first-order stories that served as cultural building blocks. She said "It's a lot like that one episode of Star Trek..."

i once got laid using the lines from that episode. seriously. geek days! That is one of the GREATEST hours of TV.
