It's Murderous Homosexual Day on Slog

Posted by on Thu, Oct 30, 2008 at 2:36 PM

Meet Dave the Gay Plumber:

A Long Island plumber whose marriage had crumbled after he admitted to his wife that he was gay told cops he laced her coffee with cyanide because he couldn't bear to see her with anyone else, cops said yesterday.

The mother of two, Maureen Steeves, 41, suffered massive damage to major organs and is brain dead. She isn't expected to recover.

David Steeves said he hatched the plot to poison her because "I can't stand the thought of her being with someone else," according to Suffolk County police.

Ugh.

Murderous selfish homosexual day. The possessive nature of these homos is what defines them, not their homosexuality.

Come on, WHERE does one buy cyanide? Would you like some arsenic with that order?

It's a pity that her organs were damaged as well - it's a waste all around.

Is he a McCain supporter?

I think he got his admission wrong. He meant to tell her he was barking mad, not gay.

Why must papers like the New York Post start any negative story involving a gay man or a lesbian with the fact of their sexual identification? We don't see Straight Man Kills Idol Star's Mom and Family', or 'Straight White Texan Destroys a Nation's Credibility'. Trash magazines like the Post belong in the bottom of my cat's litter tray. Again on behalf of all Australians I would like to apologise for Rupert Murdoch's existence.

"The mother of two, Maureen Steeves, 41, suffered massive damage to major organs and is brain dead. She isn't expected to recover." Isn't that kind of what "brain dead" implies?

Since he was gay, wouldn't she be worth more to him alive to try and entice dudes into the relationship? It doesn't make any sense to say he's gay and then care about who she's with...or did I miss something?

So is the the beginning of a recurring column in Slog, ala Youth Pastor Watch and Every Child Deserves a Mother and Father?

Bailo of all people beat me to it. Gay but still jealous of his wife? That seems quite odd to me.

Dear crazy gay people: Please refrain from killing/maiming people until after the election is over, and people have voted to keep gay marriage rights or at the very least, keep anti-gay clauses from state constitutions. Love, California, Arizona, and Florida

And the sanctity of marriage is preserved once more!

Don't the anti-gay marriage folks always like to point out that gay people already HAVE the right to marry -- as long as they marry a person of the opposite sex? Looks like that worked out brilliantly in this guy's case...

@2 It's very easily accessible if you were so inclined, it's in your grocery store under "Apples." "The seeds are mildly poisonous, containing a small amount of amygdalin, a cyanogenic glycoside; usually not enough to be dangerous to humans, but it can deter birds.[42]" -Wikipedia (Apple). Eat, or rather extract the cyanide of multiple seeds and there ya go; deadly poison.

Bout the Apple seeds (and article): I no way endorse messing with it though... I mean, look what this extremely insecure guy ended up screwing-up with it: Someone else's life. Had he simply sucked it up and came out of the closet (pun intended ;P), or perhaps had the society (experiences) this guy lived through been more tolerant, or bit of both (I believe so), the probability of this article's existence is magnitudes lower. This is a great example to why I can't see why any anti-gay activist won't recognize the logical benefits with acceptance of homosexuality all the way down to a "social-level." As in Currently: We're encouraged by close friends and family, yet see timid/anti-gay social-behavior through the "cracks" to the straights we "gays" associate with, know of or unfortunately randomly meet. To boot we all hear anti-gay physical actions on the news we hope to never personally experience... But it shouldn't be either way! A "peace" to this situation is homosexuality shouldn't be discouraged OR have to be encouraged, it's importance should hold no more value in society than your preference of cake and/or ice cream! But again, listen up Proposition 8 voters, of course we don't prevent people from eating either ice-cream or cake *AND* enjoying it too :). Don't eat the seeds! But the knowledge should at least prevent mistakes of puking/etc. (food-poisoning symptoms)

... Ugh, Dan Savage, even though you insinuated me being attractive at the first showing of HUMP!4 (two boys at threshold of outside door you told to make a movie for next year), this article has ruined my mood... so I still give you a *glare* >.> ...the article does no good to aid prevention of further news similar to this. Not even a recognition of the very obvious psychological consequences anyone would have not living the sexual-life they truly want. It instead plays on phrases like, "he hatched the plot to poison her" and leaves the reader with the weight of his actions on the fact he was gay, not because he simply didn't grow comfortable with it soon enough to avoid this mess. Probability (not concrete fact) has it that happy gays make rainbows, great clothing, and damn strong drinks. Whereas insecure and repressed gays kill, commit suicide, and do fucked up things with poisons... this article is completely ass-backwards.

Bad timing. Announce you're gay and then go to prison. He'll be someone's bitch and see how he likes it.
