The boyfriend and I are trying very hard to both watch and involve our children in the debates. I actually do this - go down and vote , as opposed to an absentee ballot- ritual for my children. Many voters are under 21 years of age. Many families want to be involved. Are their any establishments offering a family gathering?

I'm looking forward to the shot of McCain in the wings as he mouths the words coming out of Palin's mouth and looking wistful that he can't be centerstage with her...

As a reminder: the debate doesn't start until 6pm. So if you can't make it during the 5-6pm hour then you'll miss the slog ladies chatting but not palin babbling.

Some advice for the Ladies of Slog (and Eli)... It seems the Live Slogging of McCain-Obama I missed the mark a bit. It was all doom and gloom until the next day, when polls and the MSM declared Obama the winner. Please remember that we live in Seattle. Lefty, wacky, fringe Seattle. The Republicans wrote us off eons ago. The Democrats don't give a shit about our views either (they already know they can count on our votes). So, if you can, please try to wear your Ohio-goggles. Try to imagine how it is playing to the "undecideds". Remember that both candidates have been at it for a year already, and the fact that these voters are still "undecided" may be an indication of being either willfully ignorant or mentally retarded. Alas, the "undecideds" will decide the outcome. Seattle and the rest of the West Coast don't matter. Please make a note of it and Slog accordingly.

Some more advice: when doing those little polls, offer "No One" or "N/A" or whatever for some of the questions in case we don't think there's a clear winner, etc.

Call me crazy but it would be FUNNY if Palin kicked Biden's ass!! Won't happen but that would be funny to watch. Even though, it would lead to a McCain victory.... but still.

Hey Kat, Not sure if they're hosting a debate event, but the Montlake Ale House is kid-friendly (and they have TVs). I'll be watching from the Columbia City Ale House, but I'm pretty sure it's adults-only. Good luck! ECB

A sad shame really. Aren't we supposed to engage the younger generation in political responsibility? You can begin voting at 18. I registered for my 18th b-day as a present to myself. What do the under-drinking-age-voters do? Are there any shout outs for those whom can't consume alcohol? Thank-you ECB for the tip. I think I'll visit the local pub/ family restaurant,and arm-wrestle the other connoisseurs for the tube.
