Bad news for anyone who's been itching to see a certain naked statue in Capitol Hill: It might need to be removed.

The statue is creating a safety hazard because oglers are standing in the street to snap photos, said an inspector for the Seattle Department of Transportation.

"I've seen kids out here and we don't want anyone getting hit [by a car]," he said, pointing to a small child tottering towards the statue on the corner of 11th Avenue and Pike Street.

The inspector, who made it clear that he does not speak for the department, says the statue, which was created by anarchist art collective INDECLINE, does not have a permit from the city and could be removed.

"We are currently evaluating whether the statue impedes safe pedestrian access," said Norm Mah, an SDOT media representative.

UPDATE 7:20 P.M.: To prevent city officials from taking the Trump statue away, the owner of vintage store No Parking on Pike took it in.

A previous version of this story stated that the Seattle Department of Transportation attempted to take away the statue. The owner of No Parking on Pike took it away before SDOT officials could, says Norm Mah, a department press representative.
