Steal Shit Do Drugs: Seattle’s whirlwind arsonists of rock decorum. Marianne Spellman

The seventh annual Pizza Fest begins tonight, offering several variants of punk- and no wave-inflected music over three nights at El Corazon and the Funhouse (August 4-6). It's usually one of the most raucous, debauched events of the musical year, and this edition harbors a vast warehouse worth of interesting bands that fuck shit up with panache. (There's also a pizza-eating contest on Saturday at midnight, gluttony fans.) One of the most galvanizing groups on the bill is Steal Shit Do Drugs (aka SSDD), whose drummer Pete Capponi organizes the festival, along with Jen Knight and El Corazon and the Funhouse's bookers. SSDD—Capponi, bassist Erika Mayfield, guitarist Jermaine Blair, vocalist Kennedy Carda, and guitarist Ricky Claudon—bring a much-needed sense of dangerous energy to rock, both in the studio and onstage.

After the jump, we're premiering their video for "15mg," which was directed by Claudon and shot by Kevin Blanquies and Patrick Kehoe, who also edited it. "15mg" is actually one of SSDD's more restrained numbers, but it still radiates a knife-wielding nihilism and broods with a vengeance. It may be their best work yet. (SSDD play Friday August 5 at El Corazon.)
