A Central District Church Was Burglarized and Vandalized This Weekend: Someone spray painted racist messages and slurs including "Go Back 2 Africa" along with the n-word and several swastika on the walls of the Curry Temple C.M.E. Church on 23rd Ave. Church leaders also say a check book and debit card were stolen, KING 5 reports. The Arboretum Is Getting A New Trail: Because the park lost just under five acres of land during the SR 520 bridge widening, the Arboretum is receiving $7.8 million in mitigation money, KPLU reports. Part of the funds will be used to build a 1.2 mile trail and several footbridges. And there will be improvements made to existing parts of the park, too. “People look at creeks now differently than they used to. And so we’re adding woody debris and pools and things to slow the water down and store it. And then, quite a diversity of plantings. About 20,000 plants will be added as part of the mitigation effort,” Arboretum curator Ray Larson told KPLU. The "bridges to nowhere" will also be taken.

"Once construction is complete, a supermarket won’t be the development’s only retail tenant. Plans for a retail 'bazaar' at Site A-North, called The Market Hall, envision 'a mix of local retailers, served by booths of varying sizes to accommodate the start-up entrepreneur as well as more established specialty retailers.' [Developer] Gerding [Ellen] says it plans to work closely with the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce to select a retail broker and future tenants," to blog writes.

30,000 Bees Arrive On Gov. Inslee's Front Lawn In Olympia: The News Tribune has the story:

State officials and other public agencies are required to remove noxious weeds, which can take over ecosystems and harm other species. Often, however, those weeds are flowering plants that provide valuable food for bees and other pollinators.

Lately, state officials and beekeeper groups have been working together to try to ensure those weeds are replaced with something equally bee-friendly, said Alison Halpern, executive secretary of the state’s Noxious Weed Control Board.

House Bill 2478 requires the weed control board to start a pilot program to determine what mixtures of native and noninvasive plants are the best options for replacing noxious weeds, meaning they would provide similar levels of nectar or pollen. The goal of the four-year project would be to develop recommendations and guidelines to aid landowners in replacing their weeds with bee-friendly plants.

Why is this important? Here's some context from National Geographic: "More than half of managed U.S. honeybee colonies have mysteriously disappeared in the past ten years. Honeybees pollinate a third of the U.S. diet, from nuts to produce—not to mention coffee and cotton. In 2010 the insects, originally from Eurasia and northern Africa, contributed to more than $19 billion worth of crops in the U.S."

Liam is able to separate screws, cameras, SIM cards and other phone bits. Check out the video, below.
