Frost/ Nixon is well done, but it overstates the significance of that one interview to Nixon or American democracy. Sadly, Nixon's "if the president does it, it is legal" is the essence of the Bush/ Cheney view of the executive branch, as well as Israel's definition of international human rights law.

Frost/Nixon is a compelling film for a number of reasons. The thing that got me was Nixon actually feeling and showing something akin to shame, which we will NEVER see from the Bush administration. The biggest loser in this is of course America. The corruption and pure evil really, has increased exponentially since then in no small part because was never a trial of Nixon.

When Bush has completed his pardoning process, I hope some action is taken to limit the presidential pardon because obviously, some people have no sense of shame whatsoever. Thanks for the post.

Jen, this is your inner editor. Hello. I know we haven't spoken for a while. Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about bold text. Do you know what it is for? Do you have a theory surrounding its use? Do you really feel that every third word should be bold?

Saw the movie yesterday, too. I disagree, respectfully. Disappointed at Ron Howard playing fast and loose with details, especially the interview transcript. Widespread corruption in Washington is more an ancillary background discussion here compared to Frost's desire to get Nixon to admit Watergate crimes. Corporate corruption plays a bit part in this film, not much more.
