I suspect that the snow isn't ride-able all the way down to the village this time of year, which is half the fun for me at whistler. The drive there is long, Vancouver is just past half way, and the second part is narrow and twisty and dark if at night, but they've improved it some for the games.

I use an older board this time of year when rocks and branches are exposed everywhere, but if he won the board I guess it's his to trash.

I went to Big White on Thanksgiving a few years ago, amazingly cheap and great for families with kids, not really any gay folks that I noticed. Got a condo with a fireplace that was ski in/ski out and a lift ticket for under $100/night!

Oh wait, I've never met you or your son, so I have no fucking idea what kind of parent you are. But anyone that would want to drive 8 hours and spend a bunch of money to support their child's favorite hobby must be a bad parent. And those hardly-qualifying-as-frequent trips you spend supporting a career successful enough to allow your partner to be a full time, stay-at-home parent? Those have got to stop. i'm about as itchy as your kid to get on the hill, but whistler is so epic and huge it's sort of a shame to go when you've got limitations on your riding. if you have the dollars and time to go again later this year, it might be worth it to get some turns in and take the edge off, but it's going to be about a 2 on the whistler 1-10.
