There's just all that space--what's the surface, brick?--halfway taken up with those umbrella tables. Yeah, like that's going to work out?! Like we're sunny San Diego or something.

Frankly, I'm almost inclined to say that a surface boulevard looks better than this. It sure doesn't look any worse. And for goodness sake, if this lousy "park" is what you get for the extra $2.6 billion, it's just not worth it. (Hell, you could use that extra $2.6 billion to build a mass transit system for West Seattle to Ballard and at least give the west side of Seattle some extra mobility for the mobility they'd be losing.)

P.S. Regarding something Jen did mention... I must admit "Chinese Democracy" is a great title.
