You know, just about every second of every minute of every day is straight time, sweetie.

Every movie, every ad, every TV show, every image we see every damn day assumes straight privilege and a straight world.

So when you whine, cry and bemoan your existence because the coverage of other people's lives that aren't exactly like yours rises from .00000002% to, gasp, 5 or 10%, I have absolutely NO sympathy for you.

The world does not exist to validate your existence, or your every though, word, or deed. Get over it.

The Facebook protest is ***NOT*** suggesting people not see "Milk".

What they are saying is IF you have a choice of several theaters, join the boycott and buy your ticket at a non-Cinemark theater.

The organizers specifically stated that they understood for some people, Cinemark might be the only game in town, so by all means, if that's the case with you, go see the movie (if you want to). But in those cases, they suggested bypassing concessions, so Cinemark doesn't get any additional dollars.

I think this boycott is a great idea. Especially if people can see how dollars and cents can impact a company's bottom line.

Penn will get the Oscar, he becomes Harvey Milk half way into the film.

Political murders, Milk and Moscone, on a par with Robert or Jack Kennedy, an amazing true story, we should wish was fiction.

The theater complex in the Westmark San Francisco Centre is also run by Cinemark.

in any case, the easiest way to hurt the cinema is to bring your own snacks and stay away from the concessions.

If it's at a theater that gave to Prop 8, then don't buy ANY popcorn or drinks. That impacts them more than the ticket sale.

You should all try to go see it opening weekend to support more films for audiences like this. In the end, as #1 and #4 say, it probably supports the studio more than the theater.
