Androphy said investments are typically purchased with an eye toward selling at a profit later, while Mumpower "may want to be buried with them or leave them to his family or something."

Besides, Androphy said, the law is aimed at giving notice of financial interests that could pose a conflict with an official's public duties.

If he had said his favorite comic book was "Promethea," "Planetary," "Preacher" or "Transmetropolitan," however, I would be in favor of declaring him dictator for life.

I read that somebody asked John Edwards who his favorite superhero was and he said Superman and I was all, like, "Yeah, you would say Superman. Pshhhh. Stupid Edwards."

And then I went back to painstakingly painting my pewter tabletop miniatures.
