In this docu-drama, director Allen casts Sarah Palin as herself, as he fictionalizes her rise from backwoods poverty in Wasilla -- the methamphetamine capital of Alaska -- to the state capitol in Juneau, and her subsequent return to complete obscurity. Tom Hanks stars as her beleaguered, henpecked husband Todd. Sean Penn plays her son Trig as an adult in a bizarre flash-forward scene.

Fun ensues as Palin struggles to maintain some semblance of civility -- even by Alaskan standards -- in a ramshackle house full of her daughters, their illegitimate children, and the children's fathers: Bristol's son Tripp, fathered by Levi Johnston (played by Jonas brother Kevin) and Willow's daughter Slipp, fathered by Alex Rodriguez (hilariously played by Carlos Mencia).
