It's the city, don't turn it into a yuppie kingdom. It has always been dirty, there is always something to shield your kids from, yadda yadda yadda

It really doesn't matter. People will still go to baseball games. Kids will still learn about boobies at some time in their lives.

Oh, and the building that used to be the Rainbow is now a bar with wait staff that wear lingerie ...

Remember when the Rainbow in the U-District was (briefly) replaced by a strip club? The 'hood didn't want it there, the residents didn't feel it was appropriate. Granted, that was a residential neighborhood which the area around Safeco is decidedly not... But my point is: there are better places for strip clubs than right close to Safeco Field. Even a mile or so down 4th Avenue would be more appropriate, is all I'm saying. (I do think the M's were reaching a bit when they tried to declare their surrounds as a "park", but whatever.)

And, before you ask: I am DEFINITELY no prude. You'll just have to take my word on that, I guess. ;-)

It's not about trying to keep kids in the dark regarding sexuality or female bodies. It's about the tenor of the neighborhood surrounding Safeco Field, and a strip club would/will change that tenor considerably, not for the better for the Mariners and their clientele. Nothing pious about it.

I just don't think people care that much. You really think that actual baseball fans (which I'm guessing you are not) will base their decision to go to games on the fact that the M's didn't want a Deja Vu right by the stadium, and not say...team performance?
