Just back from the Eucharist, and my favorite comment is definitely john t at 13.

In an unrelated comment, an important thing to know about this event was that it was primarily organized by a group of gay men, some of whom are Episcopalian, some of whom aren't. Not an event to convert any supposedly lost, and not an event to promote a specific theology or superstition (everyone can believe whatever crazy thing they choose). It was an attempt (in my view anyway) to offer a religious blessing to the queers who usually get religious curses. Take that as you will, or don't. Whatever.
As a brother to one sister who is wiccan and another who is atheist, let me just say, "Back off a little, will ya, people?"

Not all Christians are Fundies just like not all Muslims are Terrorists. Making blanket statements like these about Christians is just as waspy and spiteful as "Christians" saying derogatory things about homosexuals.

I am gay and I was raised Lutheran by a father who couldn't care less about church and a mom who reveled in it as a social heirarchy ranking system. I have every right to bash Christianity.
But let 'em have their beliefs. This goes with all religions.
If people believe it helps them, then it does. What a group of people do behind closed doors away from you is their own business. Granted there are those who make it their business to interfere with your (and my own) business, lumping everyone together is asinine.
The way to acceptance isn't a blanket condemnation, but to reach out to those who are as equally disgusted with their fellow [Religious Persons] and recognize them as apart from the bigotry.

/vent. (sorry)

P.S. Hell if I know what "Episcopalian" is. Sounds like something Todd did to Sarah.

Ritual cannibalism on pride. Charming. I"d rather swallow the real thing , thank you. By the way, it's still myth and superstition no matter who believes it. Celebrating a religion that has been used to slaughter and rape it's way through the last two thousand years is especially wrong when it is now being used to persecute your own people.
