In all the varied versions of Gotham City in the Multiverse, there is none where Batman has a douchey bobo beard. Simply unacceptable.

damn, that was pretty dark. I don't think it was wrong of them to spin their own take on batman. They should be able to make their movie however they want. Sooo many people in hollywood butcher original stories up anyways; at least these filmmakers have a better concept in mind and don't rely on lame marketing queues to "appeal" to certain audiences. And plus even if this is just like a portfolio type movie, they've done exactly what they should have. They're displaying their skills and techniques as filmmakers and actors. Regardless of the story they are still able to illustrate these dark and intense scenes very well. A couple years before Batman Begins came out there was a pretty high quality fan film made of Batman, The Joker, Predator, and Alien all in one movie. They have this crazy fight as each character appears one after the other. Now talk about a wack story, right? Those guys definitely got jobs working on high budget films including the new batman movies. A movie like this is all it takes to get a job working on a bigger film.

Well, there is always the chance that you are wrong about "the basic, secret idea".

In the face of evidence, you could always reconsider your assumptions. It's some sort of "method" - ask Golob about it.
