I feel like the people that are making positive changes are those planning and supporting increased public transport and safe bike routes. Critical Mass seems to be missing the point.

Believe it or not auto-motors, us bicyclists pay our fair (or more) share of taxes for road usage (esp. considering wear/tear, enviro damage.
ONE thing CM forces to the forefront is discussion, with a real minimal impact (at least here in Seattle) on day to day life...being forced to wait an extra light is NOT an earth-shattering event....
And if in that discussion, all that can be offered by motorists is "Fuck you...wish someone would plow into you (killing maiming hundreds), want you as a hood-ornament....etc....."
Wow.......not sure what else to say.....

The hypothetical driver accidentally causes a backup. The blockage CM causes is no accident. These are two completely differnet scenarios caused by different intentions, even though the traffic outcome is the same.
