Really? Does he have any data to support that claim or is it just pure conjecture? Is the statement reality-based or myth-based?

The biggest problem with the Republican party - at every level - is that it has chosen to be myth-based instead of reality-based. There is also the pattern of Republicans, when elected, who strike political poses instead of governing.

As P.J. O'Rourke said: "The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it."

The moderate McKenna of 20 years ago might have supported R-74, and I might have considered voting for that moderate McKenna (depending on who he ran against). But his opposition to R-74 had everything to do with why I wouldn't even consider voting for him now.

No amount of rebranding can conceal the fact that the Republican party has become wholly racist, homophobic, and tools of the religious right and corporate profiteers.

Quisp was far superior to Quake in so many ways: first, he was a freaking alien, while Quake was just a burly Dudley Do-Right wannabe in a miner's helmet. Second, the bowl-shape of Quisp did a much better job of holding milk, than Quake's "Q"'s, giving you a nice milk-to-cereal mix in your mouth.

Like Rossi after 2004, it appears McKenna's not ready to go gently into that good night. Expect him to either run for governor again, or for the US Senate the next time one of those seats are up.

For example, look at the neighborhoods at the edge of Seattle. They clearly are low density, maybe some townhouse apartments and car oriented.

Yet they are being soaked and oppressed by a bunch of power mad urbanists in the Downtown Syndicate who dont serve their needs.

I'd say at least 1/3 of what is controlled by Seattle would be better off as their own smaller towns.

At this point they will find their way to the Progressive Republican Agenda.
