What this tells me is that when Corsi looks at a naked woman, he is so provoked by his own lust and shame that he wants to kill her. He's not really telling us anything about the woman. He's telling us about his own violent rage and his unwillingness to take responsibility for it.

You see the same thing whenever someone talks about other people's sins. The crazier the are, the likelier that they're projecting their own frustrated desires. See also: child-rape apologists who argue that sometimes the kids are asking for it, and closeted homphobes who try to codify their self-hate into law. Pointing outward is an easy way to avoid taking a personal inventory.

Other people who scare me: the "no morality without religion" types. Those people are basically saying, "Without Jesus, I have no understanding of right and wrong and am liable to do anything."

I’m glad he came back to me after the break up with him because I love him from the bottom of my heart, but without prophet harry’s help, all of this couldn't happen or even be possible. I also see a lot of (probably unintentional) symbolic meaning in replacing a wildly popular, liberal (as far as popes go) youngish man with the stodgiest, grumpiest, old-timiest, Nazi-tie-havinest old fart they could find. It really felt like the cardinals wanted to double down on the old ways.

Move to Berlin, Germany - my wife did just do that many times while we lived there a few years ago.
Very liberal, open-minded, with a gay mayor (who likes to be a politician more than serving the city, though). A bit dirty, but also dirt-cheap to live in. Awesome public transportation, tons of subsidized cultural stuff of any kind. Awesome parks and ponds/lakes within the city.
Low on religious crap.
And much more.

@25 The part where Mary gives her permission for Christ's birth is a major element in the story.

@30 They say that Pope Benedict/Cardinal Ratzinger was chosen in part for his age. The college of cardinals didn't want a Pope who would have a multi-decade tenure like Pope John Paul XXIII did.

Add to that the fact that Mexico City has gay marriage (and all other Mexican states must recognize unions celebrated in M.C.) and that various South American countries have also adopted similar measures, I would say that the catholic church is losing both its base and its power in Latin America.

That's why they're in a panic.
