Is there ANY option that we wouldn't be made fun of on this thread? He has every relative bring a dish--oh, you know those big Mormon families. He gets it catered--oh those rich folks and their push-button lives. They skip Thanksgiving--he's sulking like a sore loser. They make it themselves... I can't find anything wrong with that one, but you see where I'm going with this. They go to Boston Market and we psychoanalyze it, but we'd do that no matter where they got their stuffing and cranberry sauce.

I can understand the depression, but I find it hard to generate either sympathy or empathy. They aren't going to starve (even if they are reduced to take-out),* and other opportunities will come their way.

*Charles, of course, would argue that ordering take-out was a good thing; at least Ann isn't being oppressed by being forced into the kitchen, and the fact that they are eating restaurant food demonstrates their greater humanity

Then again, the whole Boston Market story might be quite different than was reported. Maybe they actually bought a market in Boston, had the entire thing, with all of its contents & staff flown to LaJolla for Turkey Day. Eaten well & fired them all after the dessert dishes were dried & put away.

Feeling sorry for or bad for people who have displayed traits of sociopaths because they lost the chance to take control of America is not without valid reasons. I recall how Ann blew off the reporters asking about their tax returns with the send off, "that is all that YOU PEOPLE are going to get".....the GOP nomination is for Ann & Mitt & family just like their tax returns, all they are going to get.

I don't believe that is the lesson they walked away with. I'm not sure they have the capacity for that level of introspection.
They believed in their hearts that God would put them in the White House. When they lost, their assumption was more likely that satan triumphed, not that they did anything wrong. They will view this as a test of their piety, viewing themselves as Job or Moses.
