I think of my gay best friend, or best gay friend, who moved back to Oregon, in part, because he and his hubby wanted to escape a red state (Georgia) and move to a blue state.

Or my folks, when they wanted a fresh start after my Dad's job situation blew up, selected Arizona, in part, because they're Republicans.

So a Mercer Island-born teabagger yearning for Texas, or some other place where like-minded folks predominate, isn't really all that weird.
