David Schmader—Stranger associate editor and Last Days columnist—is the author of the solo plays Straight and Letter to Axl, which he’s performed in Seattle and across the U.S. In his spare time, he’s the world’s foremost authority on the brilliant horribleness of Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls; he hosts annotated screenings at U.S. film fests and provided the commentary track for the DVD. His writing has appeared in OUT Magazine and at Newsweek.com. Dave has lived in Seattle for 20 years; he currently lives in South Park.
