Ballard Is Getting a New Bookstore Soon

Posted by on Thu, Nov 15, 2012 at 4:30 PM

Slog tipper Clinton sends along good news from My Ballard:

The corner of NW Market St and 20th Ave NW will once again be a haven for bookworms, as Twice Sold Tales will be joining Bauhaus Coffee in the old Epilogue Books location.

The new store should be opening around February. Exciting stuff! Epilogue was a great little bookstore, and I look forward to losing at least as many hours in the new store as I did in the old space. I assume that the inclusion of a coffee shop means that there won't be any cats in this bookstore, which many of you will consider to be very good news, indeed.

Cats belong in crazy cat lady houses.

Now that Ballard's bookstore and cafe shortage has been addressed, maybe they can alleviate the dearth of drinking establishments in that scandanavian condominium enclave.

This is nice, though I still miss Epilogue. It has kind of delighted me to see that space sit empty for the past 2 years (or whatever) after Epilogue was pushed out by rent increases.

I don't patronize cat-free bookstores. Good day, sir!

By the way, at the same location accross the street is a pet store called ALL THE BEST...above them one floor up you will find TWO great book stores already!! Anderson Books and Prints which is an exceptional used book store and ART BOOKS. ART BOOKS is a jaw dropping art book store (duh) with what appears every book on every artist specializing on 20th century artists. It is very refreshing to go to both of these stores in Ballard which is kind of like the new Bellevue...but that is another story.

Twice-Sold Tales without cats? It's part of the brand identity!

I hear they're getting zombie pit bulls.

Don't rest your head for long while browsing.

The first person to open a cat cafe in Seattle is going to be a kajillionaire.

Concerning the cat issue, I talked to the owners, and, well, maybe. http://www.ballardnewstribune.com/2012/1…
