I Think Maddie Is More Interested in Shoving the Microphone in Her Mouth, Congressman

Posted by on Sat, Nov 7, 2009 at 3:58 PM

Ever since Eli told us about it this morning, I can't stop watching the health care reform debate. And, as always, Republicans are raising the discourse:

(Where did he get that baby from?) Maybe someone should bring in a puppy who will give a hearty "Arf!" for the Democrat's health care bill. The Republicans will get confused about which way to vote.

They should have warped the baby in American Flag Diapers. It would have been beautiful.

John Shadegg is a god-awful moron. Even the poopy-drawered infant is trying to stifle the mic...

every time you think they've hit bottom-now they have infants being used to spout lies and misinformation. I hope Maddie grows up as an anarchist Earth First monkey-wrencher.

Maddie is trying to get that mike away from the bad man as best she can.

Let's assume he's not lying, insane, or insulting our intelligence. Are 6 month old infants really experts on health policy?

lol, what is even going on anymore?
Congress doing tequila shots and playing suck and blow would be more productive use of their time then this bullshit.
Why doesn't anyone ever walk out of this or start screaming out of the sheer audacity?

That is a cute little baby.
I suspect that gentleman doesn't spend a great deal of time with infants/toddlers. I suppose infants/toddlers love freedom if freedom involves eating cake for breakfast and never taking a nap and being able to play with that mic.

I think I would have enjoyed the moment more if Maddie had spit up on the gentleman.

Ms Funkathrusta, "what is even going on anymore?", as you ask is a very good question. The tragic truth is that most progressive Americans are not screaming, they are not marching, they are not calling Republicans Nazis, etc. They are not bringing their babies onto the floor of the House.

Patient choice amounts to what one can afford. No money no choice! Lots of money lots of choice. Simple and easy, but that reality has eluded so many Americans that now the Republicans are setting the debate with a baby show.

Sargon, I agree.
Where is the voice of reason for either side? The opposition has done such a wonderful job of turning this into a circus and the Democrats have continued to do what they do so perfectly; take the bait and fall into the circus while folding on every point.
No one is talking in sense or numbers or facts anymore and I don't know why that is .....
Why can't we depend on a political leader to say, 'We need to act like adults and use real reasoning to figure these problems out.'
fffffffffffuuuuuuu

This guy isn't running for re-election next year. He would have taken a shit on Nancy Pelosi's desk and gone down on Harry Reid right in front of the C-Span cameras if he thought it would help block this bill. He doesn't care if he crashes and burns in the most obnoxious way possible; he probably already has his job lined up at Aetna when he retires in 2010.

This is one of the worst examples I've soon of using uninformed children to forward an agenda. And yes, she was trying to push the mic away from his lying mouth.
